Carp Lake
Starting to pick up with lots of fish showing in the sunshine, I think they like it as much as we do!!! all baits seem to be doing well.

Match Lake
Same story here with 100lb bags falling to pettet waggler fished at around 4"-8" from the surface.

Stock Lake
Again the carp are loving the warm weather and catches are good, silver fish are falling to corn and paste. Good evening carp sport with floating baits - bread off the top a great winner.

Carp Lake - New Lake Record Common Carp
Although the weather has been all over the place - a new Lake Record came out on Saturday night (22.03.08) caught by one of our regulars Mark from Newark - A stunning 34lb 14oz Common

He took it from the far bank between the carp lake and match lake using Mulberry flavoured boilies.

This is a new fish that hasn't been out since I've owned Sapphire. The biggest Common prior to this was a 28lb 10oz fish and the biggest Mirror to date is still the 32lb 4oz fish. None have been out recently.

Match and Stock Lake
Both the Match lake & Stock lake are fishing well with most baits taking the carp - especially corn on the tip in the match lakes with a small feeder rig.

Matches are due to start on the third weekend in April and run through to 2nd week in October - so pleasure anglers please ring for availability on the match lake before turning up

21st February 2008
Hello everyone, hope you all had a merry Christmas and New Year. Sorry it’s been a while for any news but as you all know winter can be a little steady on the angling front!!!

Match Lake
Regulars who have been fishing have had some good bags of carp to corn on the “tip” both on straight bomb and small method feeders. You can still winkle out the silver fish with hemp, casters and pinkies. As usual, follow the wind in the match lake for best results.

Carp Lake
As usual the weather has not been too kind to us yet this year, but there have been some cracking early fish out. The biggest so far came out two weeks ago – a beauty 23lb 12oz common caught by Simon Quimby on a bottom fished Mainline Pineapple Plus boilie. He also managed a 18lb 2oz common later that night.

Most weekends have seen fish on the bank, and fruity baits seem to be doing the business. Although that old favorite – plastic corn has accounted for some double figure Mirrors of late.

DON’T forget Easter is early this year and bookings are coming in thick and fast, so If you want a place on the carp lake it’s best to get your booking in early

Stock Pond
This little lake always seems to produce no matter what the weather, regulars have been getting frequent bags of silver fish to 30lb on pinkie, caster and hemp. With the odd bonus carp showing during the day.
Carpers have been catching on anything bright at the moment so dig out your “flouro” boilies for a bit of winter sport in here.

1st November 2007
Match Lake
After a dissappointing last couple of months things are picking up, with the last match of the year winning with 79lb of carp. Pleasure weights are averaging 60lb - 80lb with fish still being caught of the top with bread and bisquits.

Pellet and corn fished straight bomb or small method feeders working well also.

All matches have now finnished until next year - any clubs wishing to book for 2008 please get in touch as dates are becoming limited.

Winter Day ticket prices are back to £5 per day on the Match and Stock Lake.

Stock Lake
A similar storey to the match lake with the carp only just starting to show back on form. Bream, Roach and Perch seem to be coming back on the feed.

Winter Day ticket prices are £5 per day & per night

Carp Lake
Well it's been a struggle over the past couple of months with plenty of fish showing - but being reluctant to feed.Quite a few low to mid teens coming out but the bigger fish are still elusive. The lucky ones have been fishing "fruit flavoured" baits with Pineapple, Tutti Frutti taking the most recent fish.

Yet again, I've left it too late to organise a Winter Ticket - but will offer the following week day deal - Buy a day ticket for £8 and get the night for free !!! This offer only applies Monday to Thursdays on the Carp lake. 1st November 2007 - 29th February 2008

I promise to fully organise a Winter Ticket for next year for all you have shown an interest.

2nd August 2007
As we speak the water levels are just starting to recede, but wellies are still recommended, especially on the carp lake to get your rods in.

Keep your eyes open for September issue of Crafty Carper, as we had a short session visit from Graham Slaughter last week to do his feature on the new Viper bait boat "Icon"

Carp Lake: Fish are now showing more as the weather picks up, with the biggest fish of the weekend fell to Trigga Ice boilie from Jim Rigney - 26lb 8oz mirror a new personal best for him. There were plenty of fish in the 15lb - 19lb with three other 20lb plus fish coming out. Keep your eyes on the web site as I will be announcing our new "Winter Deal" for the forth coming winter.

Match Lake: Results have been a little down recently, but are picking up. One regular had 35 carp out fishing floating pellets this week, paste and pellet fished on the bottom is still a good method also.

Stock Pond: As usual still fishing well with good pleasure weights over 50lb - Corn and soft pellets working well, even I managed 40lb of good bream in four hours!!!!

10th July 2007
Carp Lake: Although most pegs now have at least 6 inches of water in them, it is fishing well with most anglers having at least one fish. The catch record for the carp lake has been smashed by Mark Fox from Newark - He fished Wednesday through to Sunday and had 26 carp and lost 8 !!!! Included in this were six mirrors over 21lb with the biggest being 26lb 10oz !!! Most were caught prior to the weekend on Ace Baits Liver & Tuna 16mm bottom baits fished over a bed of Partimix. His other fish ranged from 6lb 11oz - 19lb 11oz most were in the 13lb - 19lb bracket.
The Match Lake: This again has water in all pegs and wellies are required!! Hopefully it should start going down if we don't get any more rain!!! Pleasure nets are averaging 45lb - 60lb of carp and skimmers with the average match weight being around the 60lb - 90lb Pellet and paste fished in the margins is working well due to the high water, if the fish are up in the water, then pellet fished short and sprayed with pellets is working well too.
Stock Pond: Same story on the water levels, but as usual this pond fishes well with mixed bags to 80lb - Fishes better during second half of the day up to last light with the better roach feeding at dusk.
General News: Due to unforseen circumstances we have now stopped providing "Breakfasts" although the local Chinese still delivers in the evenings.

Carp Lake - Things are picking up now and it looks like spawning has finnished. Most baits are working with plastic corn just coming out on top of the bait list.
Mick Bolt from Wakefield is just 2 days into his weeks stay and has had eight fish out so far (between 14lb 2oz and 19lb 8oz) All have come to different baits.
Match Lake -This is also starting to pick up, with pleasure weights between 50lb - 70lb Pellet and corn fished on the bottom either with pole or quivertip. Late afternoons are still good for getting the carp off the top with floaters
